In case you still don't know my name, I'm Khrystal and I use she/her pronouns. I'm a 22 year old UX Designer and Researcher, and a recent graduate from the University of North Texas. Over the last four years, I've worked incredibly hard to receive my Bachelors of Fine Art in Communication Design, with a concentration in User Experience, and a Minor in Customer Experience Management.
Whew—That was a mouthful!
Aside from those formalities, I'm a golden retriever mom, a foodie on the side, and an overall artistic person. In my spare time I do a lot of digital & traditional artwork, ranging from bullet journaling, digital sketching, sneaker/leather customization, and acrylic painting.
In Highschool, I began to pursue Graphic Design at a technical school, while I was happy designing things, I always felt like there was no rhyme or reason to it. I was making working for clients but there was no methodology behind it, it was often a simple cycle of either 'like or dislike'. In my freshman year of college, I was enrolled in a general design course, where we explored what UX was and the process. I eventually fell in love with the "why" behind everything, and now want to help others discover their "why" too.
I want to utilize User Experience Research and Design to create memorable experiences and enhance both usability and accessibility across systems to enable users to have a more enjoyable experience overall. I have passion for people, their cultures, and a genuine curiosity that fuels me to better understand both individuals and groups of people in order to cater to their needs and wants through design.
Thirst for Knowledge: Despite your age or knowledge, there is always an opportunity to learn more, experience more, about anything and everything. Although it typically has a connotation to it, I value, and aim to be a jack-of-all trades, possessing a little bit of knowledge in every pool I can.
Fearless Communication: I always aim to have timely, open, and honest communication, free of judgement, with everyone.
Open Minded: "Dumb Questions" are my forte,
Healthy Boundaries: Mental health is an important subject to me, and this covers a variety of subjects. However I believe that everyone should be able to have and set healthy boundaries in order to protect and keep themselves happy and healthy. This could include effective time management, tactics to both understand and manage increasing workloads and expectations, and being able to say "no" in certain situations.
